Community Groups

Are you a community group looking to stage an event to bring your members together for a fun day out? Are you looking to stage a charity fund-raising day involving other members of the local community? Are you looking for an activity that will offer young people an exciting opportunity to try something new? Then BaseballSoftballUK's Hit the Pitch programme is for you.

Think summer, parks, sport, softball. Britain loves long summer days in the park playing games, and what better way to do this than organise softball programme for your community or group? Softball is all the rage in parks across the country and is perfectly suited to community activity - it's played by mixed teams of five men and five women and appeals both to the competitive and those who aren't very sporty. Both baseball and softball are perfectly suited to offering young people an exciting new experience where they can develop friendships and improve communication skills through playing and organising with other young people in their local area.

BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) has put together a package of events tailored to the needs of a community organisation. Whether you want to run a community day, set up a community team to play in the local league or run a new league in your community, we have a support package for you.

what's in the organiser pack?

  • A friend and I decided to go along and have a go at softball after seeing an ad in a local paper. Having not played organised sport for a few years, I was a little unsure but we've loved getting involved. The option to pay weekly is great.

    Emma, participant

  • The Hit the Pitch baseball/softball days were fantastic, as well as being a great day out where the kids could relax and have fun they also had the opportunity to learn new skills and be introduced to a new sport in their area.
