Higher Education

Think universities, think students, think friends playing baseball or softball together, having a great time and meeting new people.

Baseball and softball are fast becoming part of the university sports landscape and our Hit the Pitch programme will help you expand your current sporting offer. Whether it be international students looking for a taste of home, an intramural sports programme for students looking to make new friends and socialise, or a chance to enter the rapidly-expanding National Baseball and National Softball University Championships, Hit the Pitch will help you achieve your aims.

BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) has put together a programme tailored to the needs of students and universities. There are already over 30 Higher Education institutions with softball or baseball clubs, so why not join the list of universities looking to broaden their sports offer and improve their student experience? Whether you want to run an introductory day, set up a team or run a league at your university, we have a support package for you.

  • Thanks to support from BSUK we now have a core group of students who play each week, supported by our University Softball Officer and links with a local coach. The National University Softball Championships is a great opportunity to compete in a fun and social atmosphere.

Kirsty McCoubrey, Project Officer, University of Brighton Series

  • Bucks New University started working with BaseballSoftballUK two years ago and since then, the growth of softball at our university has been fantastic. The Hit the Pitch softball programme has enabled us to set up a society and have new students engaging in the sport.

Hannah Jeremy, Active Universities Sports Project Activator

  • The Imperial College baseball team found it hard to hold on to players when they had nothing to train or play for, but with the establishment of the National University Baseball Championships, life was breathed into the club and we've managed to recruit and retain many more players this year.

Ashley Ng Ding Wen, President, Imperial Baseball Club
